DELIVERY, RETURNS & PRICING
How are items collected and delivered?
There’s a reason moving house is up there with divorce as one of the most stressful things a person can do: logistics can be painful. Not so with HARTH. That’s our commitment.
Teaming up with some of the best logistics partners around, we understand the art of getting big, precious or complicated things safely into their intended spaces.
Once a rental has been agreed, we will work with the lender and borrower to schedule collection and delivery. All packaging will be taken away and if an installation is required, this will be handled with care by experienced professionals.
If multiple items have been borrowed from multiple lenders, we will endeavour to consolidate them into as few deliveries as possible. When rentals come to an end, we arrange for the items to be collected, re-packaged and returned - or taken to the next borrower.
We will keep you updated every step of the way and ensure that deliveries work for you. If there are any questions, you can contact us at any time.
What about returns?
When rentals come to an end, we arrange for the items to be collected, re-packaged and returned - or taken to the next borrower. No fuss.
How much does it cost?
We have a simple pricing structure in place and we keep this fixed to be fair to all lenders and borrowers. The borrowing cost is determined by the recommended retail price (RRP) of the item, and the monthly fee will adjust depending on the duration of the rental:
- One month or less: 15% of RRP
- 1 - 3 months: 10% of RRP per month
- 3 - 6 months: 7% of RRP per month
- 6 - 12 months: 5% of RRP per month
- After 1 year: 3% of RRP per month
If the RRP is unknown, the insured value of the item will be used instead.
The percentage the borrower pays will be based on the duration that is agreed at the start of the rental period. If the borrower chooses to extend the rental period, the extension will be priced at a new percentage reflecting the longer duration.
Before committing to the rental, the borrower will also be provided with one-off costs for delivery and any other services that may be required (such as installation).
How does Harth make money?
Only a fraction of the fees end up with Harth - most of the money will go into the lender's pocket, just like it should. We charge a 10% commission from both sides on each monthly payment. It's easiest to illustrate with an example:
To borrow a chair with a monthly fee of £100 per month, the borrower will pay £110 (the monthly fee, plus Harth's 10% commission). The lender will receive £90 (the monthly, minus Harth's 10% commission). Harth receives £20 per month.
